Asheville Women of Jazz is an organization of women jazz musicians in the Asheville area. Our members are vocalists, pianists, bassists, drummers, alto and tenor sax players, a trombonist, flute player and a jazz harpist. While these women have been gigging in Asheville individually and in other groups for many years, on September 11 & 12 we will having our first ever women's jazz fest in partnership with Women to the Front. The jazz fest will be held in the venerable jazz venue, Little Jumbo with sets on both nights at 7, 8 and 9 PM. Some of musicians include Linda Mitchell, Melody Cooper, Marilynn Seits, Ashley Pritchard, Peggy Ratusz, Emily Songster, Linda Wolf, Robin Borthwick, Wendy Jones, Rick Dilling, Ruth Cooney, Taylor Pearson, Zach Page and Kelle Jolly.
